Q Projects were contracted to carry out an extensive refurbishment of a typical terraced house in Ealing that also included adding an extension to the Ground Floor and Loft. Initial stages of the work involved partial demolition, installation of temporary supports, partial underpinning and new concrete footing for new extension. Extensive structural steel work was installed at Ground Floor and Loft to create new layout and support new extensions, following structural design and specifications by
Milk Architecture and Design. Brickwork was carried out using recycled London Yellow Stock to match the existing bricks which were also cleaned and re-pointed to achieve almost invisible transition from old to new. Exposed Siberian Larch structural beams were used to add unique character to the design by Francesco Draisci Studio.
The project also included wet under floor heating within a new insulated structural concrete and screed slab on Ground Floor, all new wiring and heating, bespoke metal staircase with glass banister, glazed fire rated partitioning, folding-sliding doors and facade system by Schüco and flat roof windows by Glazing Vision. Design was further complimented with a variety of bespoke features like guttering, light fittings and joinery throughout, including kitchen and dining tables with Staron composite worktop
A second stage of the project involved building a new front and back garden that involves bespoke planters, recycling, lighting, BBQ area, decking and seating.
